On Thursday, January 09, 2014, at about 22:46 hours, Boston Police Officer James Carnell, ID #8353, did respond to Canal Street for a report of an assault and battery in-progress. This call was later updated to a Part 1 crime of Unarmed Robbery. During the on-scene investigation of this incident Officer Carnell failed to follow a direct order from the Patrol Supervisor, Sergeant Sean McCarthy.
